The fields are open for play as of now according to county officials. 10 am games are on as scheduled and the status of other games will be changed if the weather conditions get worse. Please check the WAFC hotline for the latest info as we might be playing and unable to update the website.
Based on the amount of rain we've had the past 3 days, all WAFC fields are closed tomorrow and rec league games canceled. If you'd like to reschedule your game, work with your opponents to find a date/time/field based on the available fields on the schedule online and then email wafcrecgods@yahoogroups.com for approval.
About 16 hours until game time. Weather looks OK for tomorrow, high of 86 with thunderstorms possible but not steady rain. Everything is on schedule for 8-8:30am setup (feel free to lend a hand), 8:30am captain's meeting, 9am first game. Shirts will be distributed at the captain's meeting. They're white t-shirts, so don't forget that everyone needs to bring a dark.
Games on June 18, 2009 will be played as scheduled. However, games cannot be played on fields with standing water, if it starts raining, or if there is lightning nearby. Use good judgement in deciding whether to play. Remember if we tear up a field because it's too wet we won't be able to use it in the future.
Games on June 17, 2009 are cancelled because of weather (thunderstorms), except W&L field games, which are still on. Any questions, call the hotline (301-LUV-BMAX) or post a comment here. Come to Hamilton's Bar (233 2nd St. NW, DC, 20001) instead for 20% off food and $3 beers (Sam Adams).
