WAFC Initiatives
WAFC's non-profit status allows us to sponsor a variety of initiatives to promote disc sports in the DC area. To date this has been accomplished mainly through management of Ultimate leagues in the spring, summer, and fall. Recent additions to this program include WAFC Jr, focused on youth Ultimate programs, and the incorporation of winter league into the schedule.
Montgomery County Parks Meetings
There are two Montgomery County Parks meeting this month. I'll be attending the one in Silver Spring. If anyone else is interested let's try to coordinate so we can present a united WAFC contingent for any issues that we might bring up.

You are invited to a community meeting on Wednesday, June 17th or 24th, to voice your opinion on how the delivery of the recreational services and programs provided by the Montgomery Parks Department and the Montgomery County Department of Recreation can be improved.

"Spirit of the Game: Ultimate relies upon a spirit of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the player. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to the agreed upon rules, or the basic joy of play. Protection of these vital elements serves to eliminate unsportsmanlike conduct from the Ultimate field. Such actions as taunting opposing players, dangerous aggression, belligerent intimidation, intentional infractions, or other 'win-at-all-costs' behavior are contrary to the Spirit of the Game and must be avoided by all players."
