Past Leagues:
League Description: For players of all abilities, from experienced players to people who have never picked up a disc before, the goal of Weekend rec league is to provide a casual, but structured game, where newer players learn from the more experienced players. Individuals sign up and are randomly placed on teams with an effort to make teams as even as possible. There are some rec league specific rules here: Rec Rules
Duration: June 12th-the weekend of August 14/15
Day of the Week: Saturday
Tournament: Weekend of August 14-15th
Gender Ratio: 5 men/2 women or 4 men/3 women, offense dictates

Interested in captaining a Weekend Rec team?
A good captain should be able to handle disputes calmly, motivate and teach players, help your team pick a good team name, and forward information from the league to players. It helps to have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of Ultimate (including Spirit of the Game), but you don't have to be the best person on the team to be effective.
If you're interested, please select "Yes", in the captain field and tell us a little about your experience in the "notes" field. We will make sure you have a co-captain (if you don't have one already that you're baggaging with).

Baggage Notes
UPDATED: What is Baggage? On the registration page you'll see some boxes to allow you to enter up to 3 people to "baggage" with, meaning you want to be placed on the same team together. Listing baggage should be reserved for roommates, spouses/SO's, people you never get to play with, and/or those it's convenient to carpool with. Baggage is certainly not limited to those categories, but rec league is for meeting new people, hence the cap on the number of people who can link up (it also makes forming the teams easier).
More on Baggage:
• Rec League baggage trains are capped at FOUR people. NO EXEMPTIONS (this includes players captaining together and any players they also want to baggage with).
• Each player in a baggage train must fill out a separate registration form.
• Each member of a baggage train will be required to enter the WAFC Username(s) of the other people in the baggage train, so get your friends usernames before signing up (this also provides confirmation that both people want to baggage together).
