Team captains, create a team page on the new WAFC website to help promote your team and take advantage of some current and upcoming features. Here's some of the good stuff you can do with the site:
- Private posts just for your team with built-in commenting features
- Team-specific RSS feed to get the latest information
- Email notices when new content is added to the team website
- Announce tryouts, openings, and practices
- Create schedules
- Post photos of team events
- Publish manuals on team strategies, guides, etc., with special printing formats
Some upcoming enhancements that will be added include:
- SMS messaging to team members by the captain(s)
- Per player statistics tracking
- Per player schedule integration (yes/no/maybe attendance tracking)

nice
Cool idea, are you designing this mainly for club teams, or trying to involve most clique teams as well?
We've been using a google group to help organize. One nice feature might be the ability to create rosters and let players set their availability for each scheduled event.
We've been using a google group with a private poll to get similar results, but it could be smoother.

My initial thought is that
My initial thought is that any and/or every team could setup a page on the site. It's trivial to set them up and delete them when the team is done. Certainly club and clique teams, which are persistent season to season, would be the most logical users.
I think adding a schedule availability component is key and it's something I'm thinking about now. I'm not sure how to do it yet so if people have ideas they are most welcome. Also, if anyone has PHP coding experience they could probably help out because I think we'll need to create some custom software to handle what we're trying to do.
