Website Design Documentation

In order for the community to enjoy participating in on WAFC.org we must provide an intuitive, clean user experience. This Wiki documents the content and design requirements for the WAFC Community website. This design documentation will act as a vital reference so that all of the volunteers are on the same page.

For an excellent reference on the User Experience Development Process, see usability.gov and this Information Architecture tutorial.

Please use the navigation below to go to the different sections of the document.  A word version of the document is also uploaded.  Please feel free to change or edit the pages. As I am not a community leader I can only enter professional guesses at what these goals should be.

Errr... How do I make this appear as a link under the rest of the Wafc.org documentation

There is an option setting when you're creating a page to place the page in a Book. A book is simply a logical structure of pages. I think this was intended to be a section in the www.wafc.org Documentation book, so I just edited this page to include it in that book. That change added the navigation links at the bottom of the content, with links to the parent object (the main book page in this case) and the previous section (Website Application Server Information). Book hierarchy can be nested virtually infinitely and reorganized very easily if we want to move something around. Another nice feature of Books is that they have a built in Print function that let's people create decently formatted documents for printing.

You mean a drop down of other books or something? I don't see that option when I create a new Book Page. Where is it on the screen? Do I need different permissions? Is it because you are the creator of the original wafc.org page?

I just changed your permissions. See if you can see a Book section now when you go to edit or add a new book page in this group.

That worked, I can now see the correct options.
